Matt Reyes is a 1989 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. Following graduation, he attended US Army Airborne and Air Assault Schools, and the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course at Ft Sill, Oklahoma before reporting for duty at the 101^st Airborne Division (Air Assault) in February of 1990. In August of 1990 he deployed to Saudi Arabia with the 101^st Airborne Division as part of the rapid deployment force which responded when Iraq invaded Kuwait. He subsequently served as a Fire Support Officer for C/2-187 IN ("Rakkasan!") during Operations Desert Shield and Storm. During Desert Storm, his Fire Support Team was able to put their training to use, executing a combined artillery and mortar attack which resulted in the destruction of an Iraqi vehicle convoy attempting to infiltrate friendly lines. Matt was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his service.

In 1994, Matt and his wife Cathy decided to leave the service for corporate America. Matt worked for two Fortune 500 companies and gained extensive experience in human resources, recruiting, and business leadership. In 2001, the couple started to invest in residential real estate, buying rental homes in the local market. Seeking to further his real estate knowledge, Matt took the NC Real Estate Sales Course and got his license in 2003. In order to understand in depth how real estate markets and property valuation really work and to further his sales and marketing skills, Matt decided to leave the corporate world to practice real estate full time. While listing and selling in an extraordinary manner, he took and continues to take numerous courses to continue his real estate education. Topics have included investing in residential and multifamily/apartment homes, successfully listing your home to sell, handling clients with excellence, leading real estate teams, managing trust accounts, referral based marketing, and many others. At the same time, he has developed a passion for personal development and understanding how people think and act. He has attended many courses and teleseminars, and read many books on this topic as well. Cathy Reyes is a 1990 graduate of the United States Military Academy. Her class has the distinction of being only the 10^th co-ed class to graduate from West Point, and the first class to have a woman First Captain. While at West Point, she attended the US Army Airborne School at Ft Benning GA, and Northern Warfare Training in Alaska. Following her graduation, she attended the Signal Corps Officer Basic Course at Ft Gordon, GA enroute to her first assignment with the 101^st Airborne Division at Ft Campbell, KY. She arrived during wartime, and immediately departed for Saudi Arabia to join the 501^st Signal Battalion which was heavily involved in providing communications support to the 101^st Airborne Division’s mission to infiltrate deep behind Iraqi lines to cut off enemy supply and egress routes.

In 1994, she decided to leave the service to pursue other interests, not the least of which was being a mom. She went to work for a Fortune 500 company where she initially put her engineering, leadership and project management skills to use in a manufacturing environment. When business conditions caused the facility she was working at to cease operations, she swiftly switched gears and became intensely involved in sales and marketing at the company’s request. Despite the company’s efforts to get her to continue her career at another location in another state, she decided to settle in, focus on real estate, and raise her family. Her mix of skills is a great complement to Matt as they bring you the top real estate professionals around the country.
